The history of FIMCO began back in 1976, from inception the first construction site was managed with a strong strategic spirit that quickly projected the company to be amongst the largest.

A path that since the early ’90s sees FIMCO Spa consolidate as a point of reference in the field of civil construction and redevelopment of the territory. Over time, the company diversifies its activities moving from construction to the promotion and management of project financing interventions and redefines itself as a general contractor.

In 1993, the design, construction and implementation of Auchan (BA) Shopping Centre, at that time the largest single-storey building in Europe.

After the challenge of large scale projects, it’s time to interact with the territory: creating value through technical quality is no longer sufficient to exhibit the potential and ingenuity of the company. The vision of the future; the development of the surrounding regions becomes the driving value in every business activity.

The fortified commitment of the entire team, company ethics and the quality of their work allow FIMCO to reach strategic regions of the Italian economy.

In Veneto in ‘96, FIMCO starts the construction of warehouses in the Interporto Quadrante Europa.

The following year Modena sees it engaged in the construction of the new Infectious Diseases Department of the Polyclinic.

In 1997 the company sets up a quality assurance system to plan and control all activities and achieves the ISO9000 certification well in advance of the regulatory deadline.

In the same year, it carries out the Assisted Sanitary Residence in the Municipality of Andria (BA).

From 1998 to 2002, FIMCO is responsible for the execution, control and custody of water purification plants for an area comprising of about 90 municipalities in Puglia. The company builds a further three shopping centres in Puglia and three industrial factories for the production of living rooms. The goal is not simply to build but to construct the future through logistics and infrastructure.

In 2003, after having acquired targeted commercial areas of 103 hectares, Logistica Sud Srl is established in Rutigliano, in the province of Bari, with which, after the design phase, begins the construction of the Puglia Logistics Terminal.

Within a three year period 2002-2005, just 36 months, FIMCO designs and builds the new headquarters of the F. Miulli Hospital, one of the largest in southern Italy, equipped with 700 beds and the most innovative technologies. Other important residential properties, executive offices and a multi-screen cinema follow.

In 2005, the company is once again in Casamassima (Ba) for the construction and related urbanization works of 120 housing apartments in “Covent Garden” residential centre.  Almost as if to close a circle, in 2006 FIMCO returns to “its” Noci, in the province of Bari, to build Otrè Polivalente Sports Centre.

With consistent pursuit of new ways to promote the development of the territory also begins the valorisation of the history of the places through the conservation of its local architectural beauties.Since 2007, with the help of new static consolidation techniques and the use of intelligent system solutions, restoration activity takes shape on numerous conservation projects of important historical buildings in the centre of Bari and Rome.In 2011 FIMCO builds the tallest building in Putignano (BA) with exclusive apartments from whose summit the Ionian and Adriatic seas are visible. In the same year, with great pride, is the turn of the restoration of the crypt of St. Nicholas in Bari.

Simultaneously the new corporate asset Cala Ponte SpA, a concessionaire of the area on which the modern touristic port of Polignano a Mare was built, operational since summer 2014. The following year, also in Polignano, the Cala Ponte Hotel opens to the public, with the aim of contributing to the success of the seaside village, among the most popular tourist destinations in the world. The recoveries of urban assets and the restructuring of masserie (old farms) are multiplied, such as “Il Melograno” in Monopoli (BA). Resort and reception centres dedicated to the luxury and top quality tourism market come to light.

FIMCO SpA has often taken on public service interventions: it is a company of people with great passion for the sustainable development of places, convinced that responsible choices are winning. A group in constant growth, attentive and socially active, in which goals and milestones are shared.

Awakening the potential of every territory

Our strongest commitment is to believe in productivity and quality, transferring to the business market, culture, safety and respect for the environment and creativity.

Through the construction business, we want to clothe places with the beauty of architecture and structures of worth, capable of generating new beauty and value for everything that surrounds them. We want to challenge time and leave to future generations buildings that tell about us, in the same way historical palaces reveal the ingenuity of the men and women of the past.

We believe in development in all directions to “build” in a Fimco way.
